Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Real natural stone, factory-direct since 2001. Here’s what customers ask us most.

Products & Material

Is this real natural stone?
Yes – 100% natural dolomitic limestone. Nothing artificial. The color runs all the way through the stone, so cuts and chips never reveal a gray manufactured core.
What’s the difference between natural stone and manufactured stone?
Natural stone is genuine quarried stone with color and texture all the way through. Manufactured stone is concrete molded and painted to look like stone – the color sits only on the surface, so it shows gray when chipped and breaks down faster, especially in freezing weather.
What colors are available?
Over 20 core colors, always kept in stock – from light grays and beiges (Adam Blue, Oyster Gray, Almond, Sand Beige) to warm browns and reds (Browny, Red Camel, Rojo Blush) and near-blacks (Black, Black Basalt). Because they are always stocked, you can add to a project years later and it will match.
What sizes and finishes do you offer?
Over 500 options. Panels are typically 6"–12" high by 24"–36" long, plus tiles, slabs, mosaics, coping and wall caps. Finishes include Bladed, Bush Hammer, Canvas, Combed, Honed & Polished, Leathered, Parquet, Paso, Sandblasted, Scored and more. Custom cut-to-size is available for any dimension.
Do you do custom fabrication?
Yes – any size, thickness, finish or color. We fabricate sinks, bathtubs, vanity tops, columns, fountains, sculptures and full wall cladding. Custom orders take about 3–4 months.

Uses & Performance

Where can it be used?
Interior and exterior walls, floors, fireplaces, bathrooms (showers, tub surrounds, vanities), pools, water features, landscaping and facades – for both homes and commercial projects.
Can it be used outside and in freezing climates?
Yes. It is dolomitic limestone, tested for freeze/thaw over 25 years. The stone is so dense that water cannot penetrate it, so it performs in any climate.
Can it go in a swimming pool?
Yes – it can be fully submerged. It has been tested in chlorine and acid for 25 years with no change in color or texture, and it carries a lifetime warranty.
Is it good for fireplaces?
Yes – a fireplace does not get hot enough to affect the stone, and it is a very popular application (just follow local building codes and the fireplace manufacturer requirements).
How much does it weigh?
Under 15 lbs per square foot including thinset, so it usually needs no extra foundation and meets California seismic code.

Samples, Pricing & Ordering

How much does it cost?
From about $8 to $60 per square foot depending on style and finish. Most popular in-stock products are $12–$15/sq ft; mosaics start around $7; custom CNC work runs higher. Tell us the style you are after and we will give you an exact price.
Can I get samples?
Yes. On our website, open any product and use "Add to Cart for Sample." You pay only shipping, and it is credited back when you place your order. We recommend ordering 2–4 samples and viewing them against your wall in natural light.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimum order. You can order anything from a few pieces to full pallets or containers.
How long does shipping take?
In-stock orders ship quickly from our Las Vegas warehouse. Custom fabrication takes about 3–4 months. For large projects, plan for roughly 4 months from order to delivery.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes – throughout the United States (and internationally). Orders ship in Styrofoam-cushioned crates. There is no sales tax on out-of-state orders, and delivery cost often roughly offsets the tax you would otherwise pay.

Installation

Can I install it myself?
Many experienced DIY homeowners do. It installs just like tile – using thinset and a wet saw – but professional installation is recommended for the best result.
Do you have installers?
We install in the Las Vegas area. Elsewhere, we supply and ship the material and any qualified mason or tile installer can set it. Depending on your location, we may be able to recommend an installer.
What surfaces can it be applied to?
Exterior: brown-coat stucco, cement board, or masonry block. Interior: cement board, plywood, or drywall (drywall needs metal lath installed first). Pools use a pool-grade, high-polymer thinset.
Do I need grout?
It is optional – more than 90% of installations use butt joints with no grout. In freezing climates, a thin non-sanded grout helps keep water from getting behind the stone.
Does it need sealing?
No – it is virtually maintenance-free. If you would like extra protection you can add a deep sealer (no color change) or a surface sealer (enhances color, matte or gloss).
Do I need corners, and how much waste should I plan for?
For outside corners, matching one-piece corner pieces give the cleanest look and are available in most colors. Add about 10–15% for cutting waste.
Why does the color vary piece to piece?
Natural stone naturally varies 10%–40% in color – that is normal and part of its character. Mix and blend pieces from your shipment before installing for the best result.

Company & Warranty

Is there a warranty?
Yes – a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser on defect-free product, when installed to local code and per the adhesive manufacturer specifications.
Where are you located? Do you have a showroom?
We are a factory-direct company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a showroom and 500,000+ sq ft warehouse at 2000 E Maule Ave, near the airport. Visitors are welcome.
